Introducing the new improved version of the Raptor family of the ER-1010 OSI model, Layers 2 through 4 Ethernet switching family. The switch CPU provides 3 times the performance and 4 times the memory capacity of the original ER-1010 increasing the distributed switching capacity all acting like a single switch chassis even when separated over long distances.
Box-to-box communication is achieved through Raptor Adaptive Switch Te c h n o l o g y– R A S T ™–connections over copper, dark fiber, or CWDM/DWDM in a mesh, ring, or hybrid topology. Current dark fiber distances are limited to current technologies, but distances over CWDM/DWDM are unlimited.
Distributed architecture capabilities include connecting racks throughout datacenters, on multiple floors in enterprises, and buildings and cities in campus/metro environments. Individual units can be added as the user growth needs arise.
